Terms of use
These terms apply to your use of LevyBot, provided by Mediahubink Limited (company number 17218602, registered office 7 Tileyard North, Wakefield WF1 5FY). Please read them before relying on any result. By using LevyBot you agree to them.
What LevyBot is
LevyBot gives an indicative view of whether the Building Safety Levy may apply to a residential scheme in England, an estimate of the charge using the published rate for your council, and a list of evidence the collecting authority may ask for. It works only from the information you enter and the rules and rates built into the tool.
What LevyBot is not
- It is not legal, tax, valuation or other professional advice.
- It is not a formal determination. The collecting authority calculates and decides the levy payable.
- It does not replace a measurement of gross internal area by a qualified professional, or advice on your particular scheme.
Before making a financial, contractual or development decision, check your inputs and assumptions against the current GOV.UK Building Safety Levy guidance and take professional advice.
Accuracy
We take care to keep the rates and rules in LevyBot up to date, but the regulations and guidance can change, and the result depends on the accuracy of what you enter. We do not guarantee that LevyBot is complete, accurate or always available.
Our liability
LevyBot is a free tool that gives an indicative estimate. We are not responsible for an incorrect result to the extent it is caused by inaccurate or incomplete information you enter, or by changes to your scheme, the regulations or the published rates after you run the check.
If you use LevyBot for business purposes, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from that use.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Readiness Reports
Sending a Readiness Report request does not commit you to anything. Before any paid work begins, we will tell you who would carry it out, what it covers and what it costs. Any professional report is supplied under separate terms that you agree with the firm providing it. These terms do not limit anyone's responsibilities under that separate agreement.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse LevyBot, including by submitting false or automated requests, attempting to access systems you are not authorised to use, or interfering with how the service runs.
Content and licences
Apart from public sector information and third-party material identified on the site, the intellectual property in LevyBot's original content, software and design belongs to Mediahubink Limited or its licensors. Levy rates and guidance contain public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. The worked example uses figures from documents published with planning application 25/02291/FUL on Wakefield Council's planning register, for illustration only. It is not a commissioned assessment or a verified statement of the scheme's levy, and it is not endorsed by the applicant, its advisers or Wakefield Council. The IBM Plex fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
